Helping Make The Daddy-Baby Connection

An interesting article, by Dr William Sears, in the Parenting section of CNN Health about how mummy can help daddy and baby bond.

Personally, I feel that I am quite close to Matthew from the time he was born and have bonded quite well. Sure, I was afraid to carry and hold him in his first month because I felt that he was so fragile and I wasn’t that gentle of a guy. But from the second month onwards when we didn’t have the help of a nanny, I had to help my wife take care of him. I changed his diapers (which was very often), carried him to sleep, sang to him, and woke up in the middle of the night. As he grew older, I also help feed him his milk.

Well, now that he’s 17 months old, he likes me to read him stories. Guess that’s what you call a daddy-baby connection that was built up from the time he was born.
