Stressed Parents Result in Ill Children

A recent research has found that parents who are anxious or depressed may in turn cause a higher sickness level in their children as well as themselves.

Well, it has already been known that stress lowers one’s immunity level and thus become more prone to infections and other illnesses. I guess I must be a little stressed as well as I’ve been down with flu and cough over the last few days. :)

Anyway, what was interesting from the research was that the stress can actually be transmitted from parent to child. So, if you are a stressed parent, please learn to de-stress so that it doesn’t affect your children’s health too greatly.

While it makes sense, I must comment that being a parent sometime inevitably makes one become anxious and depressed. Anxious about almost everything concerning one’s child (especially if it is the first born) and depressed that one will not be able to take care or provide for him/her.

Anyway’s great blog………….good to see father’s like us relating our parenting experiences. Hope to exchange tips with you in time to come.

Cheers,
Joshua
